Half of them are main training centres with comprehensive system technology and a wide selection of courses. The ‘big five’ are spread over five continents: North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. No matter where you are in the world, your next training opportunity is just around the corner.
Training and further education are playing an increasingly significant role in complex fields such as refrigeration and air conditioning technology. Alternative refrigerants, increasingly strict energy efficiency requirements, modern system concepts and customer-specific solutions are just some of the challenges facing the sector at the moment. In order to support customers in meeting these challenges, BITZER offers seminars and training courses at its main training centres which provide comprehensive information and practical skills on the relevant topics. Based in Rottenburg am Neckar, the SCHAUFLER Academy was named after Senator h.c. Peter Schaufler, the owner and CEO of BITZER for many years. Since opening its doors in February 2016, the SCHAUFLER Academy has already welcomed more than 13,000 participants to its training courses. The institute focuses on alternative refrigerants, intelligent electronics and energy efficiency. The Asian training centre of BITZER is located in Beijing, the capital city of China. It provides training courses in the field of CO2 compressors for subcritical applications. The natural refrigerant CO2 (R744) is becoming increasingly important in China as it has a very low global warming potential (GWP = 1) and therefore has no negative impact on the greenhouse effect when emitted. In addition, the energy efficiency of CO2 systems is very beneficial, especially for supermarket applications. Since its opening in 2014, the training centre has provided over 40 training courses with more than 300 participants. Even more courses in other fields are set to be made available in future.
BITZER Australia has been operating the training centre in St Marys near Sydney since 2006. In addition to various product seminars, the training centre down under provides training in the field of CO2 applications, compressor technology and system configuration. The extraordinary thing is that all sales and product courses are free to BITZER customers. Only application seminars are subject to a participation fee. A new training facility is in the pipeline for the site in future.
There has been one more training centre in the USA since 2014: BITZER US provides open courses from October to April in Flowery Branch, Georgia. Specific customer training courses can also be arranged upon request, such as in Spanish for BITZER Mexico and Latin America. The courses are divided into the following categories: general compressor seminars, contractor and/or technician conferences and natural refrigerants. The training centre in Flowery Branch has welcomed more than 1,600 participants since 2014. BITZER US intends to expand its range of training courses in line with customer requirements.
BITZER Brazil is one of the most important developers of CO2 technology in South America and is the BITZER centre for innovation on the continent. The training centre in Cotia near São Paulo opened its doors back in 1993, making it one of the oldest BITZER training centres. It provides a wide range of training courses in commercial and industrial refrigeration, natural refrigerants, transport applications and other customer specific topics. The International Refrigeration Seminar (IRS) is also held in Spanish here. More than 1,000 people took part in the courses here in this and last year alone. As a driver of innovation, BITZER Brazil is increasingly focused on digitalization, services and intelligent compressors.
